Schedule: Full-Time | Hybrid – 3 Days In-Office / 2 Days WFH

The Position

• We are seeking an experienced Project Architect or Project Manager to join our growing Healthcare practice in either Los Angeles or San Diego .
• This opportunity is designed for an architectural professional with strong healthcare experience who can contribute across HCAI-regulated projects , technical delivery, project management, consultant coordination, client relationships, and construction-phase execution.
• Depending on experience, licensing, and career focus, candidates may align more closely with either the Project Architect or Project Manager track.
• The Project Architect will have a stronger emphasis on technical leadership, documentation, code compliance, HCAI coordination, quality control, and architectural delivery.
• The Project Manager will have a stronger emphasis on overall project leadership, client management, scope, schedule, budget, staffing, consultant management, and successful delivery from planning through construction.
• Both positions provide meaningful project ownership, direct exposure to complex California healthcare environments, and opportunities for continued advancement within an established healthcare practice.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support medium- to large-scale healthcare (HCAi) projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
• Manage architectural deliverables across design development, construction documentation, permitting, agency review, and construction administration.
• Coordinate complex HCAI / OSHPD healthcare requirements , applicable building codes, agency approvals, and plan-check processes.
• Lead coordination between architects, designers, engineers, consultants, contractors, clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specifications, details, and project documentation for quality, technical accuracy, constructability, coordination, and code compliance.
• Resolve architectural, technical, regulatory, and interdisciplinary coordination challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, staffing requirements, budgets, fees, and deliverables as appropriate to the position.
• Monitor project performance against established scope, schedule, budget, contractual obligations, and client expectations.
• Serve as a key client contact and participate in client, consultant, agency, and Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings.
• Coordinate agency submissions, respond to plan-check comments, and support projects through required approvals.
• Review and coordinate RFIs, change orders, specifications, meeting documentation, and construction-phase correspondence.
• Support cost estimating, value analysis, design changes, and construction administration.
• Lead, mentor, and develop architectural staff while delegating assignments and providing technical and professional guidance.
• Participate in proposals, interviews, business development, and client relationship initiatives as needed.

Job Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture or a closely related discipline.
• 7+ years min. of architectural experience , ideally including substantial healthcare project exposure.
• Previous experience delivering California healthcare projects strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of HCAI / OSHPD requirements, healthcare codes, agency processes, and plan-check procedures highly preferred.
• Strong experience across design development, construction documentation, consultant coordination, permitting, and construction administration.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate technically complex architectural projects and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, documentation standards, and quality-control procedures.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and delegating work to architectural project teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a collaborative project environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong client, consultant, contractor, and agency relationships.

*California Registered Architectural License (CA RA) is mandatory for the Project Architect & is strongly preferred for the Project Manager position. 

What's Offered

• Project Architect: $100,000–$135,000+ / Year (DOE)
• Project Manager: $110,000–$150,000+ / Year (DOE)
• Compensation flexibility may be available for candidates with particularly strong HCAI healthcare experience, leadership capabilities, and California licensure.
