Per Diem Retail Pharmacist in Montrose, IA

Job Description

A per diem pharmacist opportunity is available to provide coverage at a managed pharmacy location in Montrose, IA, supported by an experienced pharmacy management group specializing in FQHC/340B pharmacy operations. This role offers the chance to contribute in a retail pharmacy setting with strong technician support and established workflows.

Location: Montrose, IA (near SE Iowa, close to IL state line)
Job Type: Per Diem
Schedule:

Monday, 6/22 through Friday, 6/29
8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide full-week coverage at an outpatient pharmacy serving a 340B program
Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth operations
Oversee pharmacy opening and closing duties consistent with organizational policies
Dispense medications accurately and counsel patients according to retail pharmacy standards
Utilize Datascan by WinPharm system for pharmacy management and dispensing activities

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Valid Iowa pharmacist license required
Previous experience in retail or community pharmacy settings
Experience supervising pharmacy technicians
Prior exposure to 340B pharmacy program operations is highly preferred but not mandatory
Ability to manage workflow in a supportive team environment

Additional Benefits:

Meal stipend provided for shifts worked beyond 90 miles from home
Hotel accommodations arranged for travel exceeding 90 miles from site
