Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Maryland

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule or Shift: Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30), with every other weekend and holiday required.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for night shifts. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of relevant experience, with preference given to those with two years. As part of our community hospital team, the RN will care for a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent nursing care during labor and delivery processes.
• Assist with births, including vaginal delivery and C-sections.
• Perform assessments and monitor fetal heart rates using EFM.
• Educate and support new parents with discharge teaching and lactation support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float within the specialty and assist in mother/baby care as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN License in Maryland or Compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, NCC C-EFM (to be in hand at the time of submission), STABLE, and CPI certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year of labor and delivery experience preferred, 2 years strongly desired.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
