Security Site Supervisor

Responsibilities Functions as a supervisor of Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other company personnel at client site(s); ensures post orders are followed, rounds are completed, reports filed, and notifications sent in emergencies. Coaches and disciplines personnel; documents coaching and disciplinary actions. Trains Security Officers and other staff; reviews post orders and assignment details with subordinates. Assists in submission of payroll and personnel information to the company. Works with management to ensure adequate coverage of all posts and positions. Prepares, files, and submits required reports. Inspects posts as scheduled and outlines tasks and responsibilities to subordinates. Meets with client representatives to ensure security requirements are met and provide quality customer service. As assigned, carries out supervisory duties including interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; making hiring and termination recommendations. May perform duties of a Security Officer in accordance with post orders and company policy. Education/Experience High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Minimum 2 years of retail experience preferred. Competencies May be required to hold and maintain any applicable state, county, or municipal license for Security Officers. Knowledge of security operations with emphasis on patrol, inspection and response services. Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance. Understanding of security and safety devices and controls. Ability to learn quickly and follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions. Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments. Ability to be an effective team member. Ability to maintain professional composure in unusual circumstances. Courteous telephone manner. Ability to adapt to various sites and changes in post procedures. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports. Good organizational skills. Strong customer service and results orientation. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients at various social levels and across diverse cultures. Working Conditions (Physical/Mental Demands) Maintaining composure when dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public under pressure. Exposure to stressful situations, including challenging individuals in unauthorized areas. Must meet background, reference, substance testing, and behavioral selection requirements. Directing and disciplining staff positively. May be required to work overtime without advance notice. Must handle multiple tasks concurrently. Keyboarding, basic computer usage, and operating controls. Clear communication skills to observe and report incidents. Frequent sitting, standing, walking; may involve climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and uneven terrain. Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling. Frequent lifting or moving up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds. Close and distance vision to adjust focus. Regular use of vehicle for duty performance. May be required to perform stressful or physical activity. May be exposed to inclement weather or work in environments requiring protective gear or personal safety awareness.
