About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatric ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse 3-4 contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU 2 years minimum PICU experience as a staff nurse Experience with caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative management of CHD patients Experience with management of arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines Description: This position requires expertise in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. The unit will accommodate both ICU and step down level patients to ensure continuity of care. The patient-to-nurse ratio may vary from 1:1 to 1:3, depending on acuity. Equipment used includes IV pumps, beds, radiant warmers, and various monitoring systems. The role involves procedures such as central line placement, intubation, post-operative recovery, and managing codes. Ideal candidates must demonstrate compassion, teamwork, meticulousness, adaptability, and flexibility in care delivery. Rotating weekend shifts are part of the job responsibilities. No on-call duty is required. Candidates with additional pediatric cardiac experience will be prioritized for consideration.
