About the Role

The Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel for Litigation to take the lead in developing and executing the litigation strategy for its home equity investment platform and other consumer finance products. This senior role involves full ownership of the company's litigation portfolio, from managing outside counsel and budgets to setting case strategies and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations. The successful candidate will be the primary contact for outside counsel, will be responsible for pre-litigation processes, and will provide input on contract terms and dispute-resolution provisions. The role requires a J.D. with a minimum of 5 years of defense-side litigation experience in consumer finance, with a strong preference for those with a background in class action defense. Familiarity with a range of consumer protection and lending statutes is essential, and experience in areas such as high-volume consumer claims, arbitration practice, and mortgage-related litigation is highly valued. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel, Litigation position at the company should be adept at managing a high-volume, fast-moving docket and be prepared to exercise sound judgment on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.
