If you've spent years drafting policy memos at the Pentagon, sitting in rooms with OSD and Joint Staff working through the fine print of Trusted Workforce 2.0, and you know the difference between an adjudication standard and a continuous evaluation requirement without blinking — this role was written with you in mind.

An award-winning government contractor — named one of the fastest growing companies in the Greater Washington region — is looking for a Personnel Security Policy SME to join their team supporting OUSD(I&S) at the Pentagon.

What you'd actually be doing:

• Drafting and coordinating DoD Directives, Instructions and Manuals on personnel vetting and adjudications
• Writing policy memos and Congressional responses — up to 40 a year
• Leading and participating in high level DoD working groups including Trusted Workforce 2.0 and the Defense Security Enterprise
• Advising senior DoD leadership directly on personnel security policy and risk
• Producing error-free, formal government correspondence and briefing materials that move fast and land cleanly

What you need:

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 5-7 years as a staff action officer at OSD, JCS or a Military Department headquarters
• 5+ years working DoD or IC personnel security policy specifically
• Genuine expertise in policy drafting, staffing and coordination at the DoD Directive/Instruction level

Location: Fully onsite — Arlington VA / Pentagon

This isn't a generic policy analyst role.

It's a niche, senior position for someone who genuinely understands how personnel security policy gets made at the highest levels of the Department of Defense — and wants to keep doing exactly that, with real influence on outcomes that affect the entire DoD workforce.
