This is a pivotal, build-from-the-ground-up role: you will directly impact our financial integrity and scalability by transforming raw deal information into robust, auditable accounting processes, and by advising Legal, Project & Cost Controls, Construction Managers, and Finance in real time as deal structures and business models evolve.You will own the technical accounting positions on non-standard transactions, lead key aspects of the month-end close for your revenue streams, serve as a key contact for external auditors, and coach a team toward reaching sound technical conclusions independently. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA who excels at deciphering intricate contracts, applying advanced US GAAP, and operationalizing solutions with minimal oversight — a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity. This is a full-time, exempt position.What You'll Be Working On:Technical Accounting Mastery — Serve as the subject matter expert on all facets of technical accounting, including but not limited to ASC 606 and ASC 842. Proactively research, interpret, and apply other relevant GAAP guidance to unique transactions, documenting robust accounting positions.Contract Analysis — Bring an acute eye for detail to legal agreements, identifying subtle clauses, terms, and conditions that materially impact accounting conclusions (e.g., acceptance criteria, termination clauses, variable pricing, significant financing components, and principal vs. agent indicators).Coaching to Critically Think — Independently review, analyze, and provide feedback to your team so they learn to research and reach the right conclusions on highly complex technical matters themselves, rather than being handed the answer.Cross-Functional Partnership — Collaborate with Legal, Project & Cost Controls, Construction Managers, and Finance to provide real-time accounting guidance on deal structuring and evolving business models.Operationalization — Translate complex technical assessments into clear, actionable processes for billing, collections, and financial reporting teams, ensuring proper system setup and data flow. Build processes from scratch where none exist and lead automation and efficiency efforts where they do.Month-End Close Leadership — Lead and manage key aspects of the month-end close for assigned revenue streams, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses.Audit Management — Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing comprehensive documentation and clearly communicating complex accounting treatments.Continuous Improvement — Champion initiatives to enhance internal controls, improve data integrity, and drive automation across the revenue accounting function.What You'll Bring to the Team:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.Eight or more years of relevant accounting experience.Deep and demonstrable expertise in US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 and ASC 842, with a proven ability to apply guidance to highly complex, non-standard transactions.Exceptional contract review and analysis skills, with the ability to identify critical accounting implications from legal documentation.Proven track record of independently researching technical accounting topics, forming well-reasoned conclusions, and documenting robust accounting memoranda.Demonstrated experience operationalizing accounting processes, driving efficiency, and implementing controls in a fast-paced environment.A self-starter with an unwavering sense of ownership and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence and minimal supervision.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex accounting concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and non-finance teams.Bonus PointsPublic accounting experience.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Experience with Sage Intacct, Stripe, or equivalent ERP and billing systems.Prior experience coaching or managing a team of accountants.Revenue accounting experience in energy, infrastructure, construction, or data centers.Benefits:Competitive compensation and equity packagesRestricted Stock UnitsPaid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programsComprehensive health, dental & vision insuranceEmployer contributions to HSA accountPaid parental leavePaid life insurance, short-term and long-term disabilityProfessional development & tuition reimbursementMental health & wellness supportCommuter benefits (parking & transit)Cell phone stipend401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salaryVolunteer time offGlobal travel insurance & emergency assistanceDaily meals allowanceAdditional perks & programs specific to locationCompensation RangeCompensation will be paid in the range of up to $165,000 - $200,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers.
