Make an impact in a high-needs classroom supporting students’ growth and development as a contract paraprofessional in a rewarding school-based environment near Eden Prairie, MN. This opportunity is perfect for dedicated professionals skilled in providing one-on-one and small group support to elementary students.
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of at least two years of college coursework from an accredited institution, or
- Associate degree or higher, or
- Passing score on an approved formal academic assessment (ParaPro, ParaPathways, The Master Teacher), or
- Ability to demonstrate competencies as listed in the MDE approved competency grid
- PCA certificate, or willingness to obtain one (free training available and can be completed in less than an hour)
- At least 1 year of experience working with school-aged children in a professional capacity
- Preference for candidates with 2+ years of experience as a school-based paraprofessional
Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent support in a high-needs focus classroom, assisting students as directed by certified staff
- Implement individualized educational and behavioral plans alongside teachers and special education professionals
- Assist with academic tasks, social skills development, and self-care routines as needed
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Document observations and participate in team meetings to support student achievement and well-being
