About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to lead field crews performing site development, grading, earthwork, and underground utility installation projects in the Amarillo area. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, productive, and high-quality execution of civil construction projects from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who can effectively manage crews, coordinate equipment and materials, read plans, and drive production while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Field Operations

• Lead and supervise crews performing grading, excavation, and underground utility work.
• Establish daily work plans and communicate project objectives.
• Monitor crew productivity and ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Hold team members accountable for safety, quality, and production goals.
• Train and mentor field personnel as needed.

Civil Construction & Utility Installation

• Oversee installation of:
• • Water systems
  • Sewer systems
  • Storm drainage systems
  • Utility and conduit infrastructure

• Ensure proper trenching, bedding, pipe installation, and backfill practices.
• Verify layout, grades, elevations, slopes, and utility tie-ins.
• Ensure work is completed according to plans and project specifications.

Quality Control & Safety

• Conduct daily safety meetings and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Enforce company safety policies and jobsite procedures.
• Verify compaction, elevations, slopes, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and maintain compliance with project standards.
• Identify and resolve field safety concerns immediately.

Communication & Coordination

• Maintain daily communication with the Superintendent regarding progress, manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Coordinate labor, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment resources.
• Report project delays, shortages, and jobsite issues proactively.
• Support project schedules and help drive successful project completion.

Qualifications

Required

✅ 3+ years of experience leading crews in civil construction

✅ Strong experience with:

• Earthwork
• Site development
• Grading operations
• Underground utility installation

✅ Ability to read and interpret:

• Construction plans
• Grades and elevations
• Specifications and blueprints

✅ Experience managing crews, subcontractors, and heavy equipment operations

✅ Strong understanding of construction safety practices

✅ Valid Driver's License

Preferred

• Experience with municipal or commercial site development projects.
• Knowledge of GPS grading systems and construction layout.
• OSHA training or safety certifications.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
