Established (30+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Patent Prosecution Attorney for Intellectual Property in Austin, Texas

 

An established firm based in Austin, Texas with over 30+ years in practice is seeking a Patent Prosecution Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team onsite or hybrid. This role focuses on patent prosecution, patent portfolio development, USPTO filings, and examiner interaction, supporting a sophisticated client base across technology-driven industries.

Salary range: $160,000-$210,000+ contingent on experience

Qualifications
Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and eligibility for Texas admission
3+ years of patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm or IP boutique
Strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, software, or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. patent applications
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to clients and examiners
Strong academic credentials and attention to detail

 

Responsibilities
Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications across a range of technologies
Conduct examiner interviews and respond to office actions
Advise clients on patentability, strategy, and portfolio development
Collaborate with attorneys and technical specialists on complex IP matters
Manage multiple matters efficiently while maintaining high-quality work product
Stay current on USPTO rules and evolving patent law
