Job Summary:

Solon Pointe at Emerald Ridge, a "Great Place to Work" Certified organization, is seeking a full-time Respiratory Director to join our team. As a Respiratory Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the Respiratory Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and leading a team of Vent unit staff. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise Vent unit staff, ensuring their work is satisfactory and in compliance with policies and procedures

• Interview and hire Vent unit staff

• Schedule and coordinate RTs' schedules and monitor attendance

• Ensure staff is oriented and has competencies completed for Vent unit

• Conduct staff in-services and audits of charts on unit

• Order supplies needed for Respiratory Services

• Conduct audits of all charts on unit, new admissions, and Respiratory charting

• Discipline staff per company policies

• Attend care conferences, daily morning meetings, and Clinical Meetings

• Monitor vent units' labs and ensure timely Assessments

• Ensure policies and procedures specific to Respiratory Unit are up to date and familiar to staff

• Primary contact between Nursing and RTs, Pulmonologist, and family members

• Review referrals and ensure respiratory admissions are handled and prepared

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License
