Callahan Auto & Diesel is hiring an experienced A- or B-Level Automotive Technician / Mechanic for our Mesa shop.

This is a full-time Monday–Friday position paying $28–$45/hour based on experience, skill level, and diagnostic ability , plus a weekly production incentive based on completed labor hours and an additional monthly performance bonus when monthly goals are reached.

Our hybrid pay system gives you the stability of hourly pay while still rewarding productivity.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, and vehicle system concerns using professional diagnostic equipment and service information
• Perform general automotive repair including brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, engine-related repairs, maintenance, and electrical work
• Complete thorough inspections and clearly document findings and recommended repairs
• Manage assigned work efficiently while keeping repair order and job status information updated
• Verify completed repairs and work with advisors and other technicians to keep vehicles moving through the shop

Must-Have Qualifications

• Professional automotive repair experience at an A- or strong B-Technician level
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
• Ability to diagnose electrical and drivability concerns
• Comfortable working on multiple makes and models
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Ability to research repair procedures and service information rather than guess
• Professional automotive hand tools
• Valid driver's license
• Dependable attendance and good communication
• Pride in your workmanship and ownership of your repairs

Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills

• ASE certifications
• Diesel experience
• Light- or medium-duty truck experience
• Fleet or commercial vehicle experience
• Advanced electrical diagnostic ability
• Mobile repair experience
• Experience with Autel, ProDemand, or similar diagnostic/service-information systems

ASE certifications are a plus, but we put just as much value on real-world experience, diagnostic ability, productivity, and quality workmanship.

Compensation

• $28–$45/hour , depending on experience and ability
• 40-hour full-time schedule
• $1,120–$1,800/week base pay before incentives
• Weekly incentive based on completed labor hours
• Additional monthly performance bonus when monthly goals are reached
• Paid weekly

For qualified technicians who are interested, there may also be opportunities beyond normal shop work, including mobile service, government contract assignments, and operating a service truck as a wildland mechanic during wildfire deployments.

These opportunities are optional and are not a requirement of the normal shop position.
