Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Specialties unit with required telemetry and Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience, rotating day/night shifts, and a 75-mile radius requirement.

Details

• Medical Specialties unit in a hospital setting, serving a predominantly medical (non-surgical) patient population
• Patient population includes those with sepsis, infectious processes, acute kidney injury, CKD (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, complex wounds, COPD, pneumonia, influenza, and Cystic Fibrosis
• Facility is a nationally recognized Cystic Fibrosis center; adult CF patients requiring admission are managed on this unit
• Unit configuration: 1 East (36 beds) and 2/3 East (25 beds)
• Day/Night rotating shift schedule
• Experience with chest tubes, NG/feeding tubes, trachs/laryngectomies, complex wounds, and drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone) required in practice
• Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws required
• Telemetry monitoring required

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting
• Proficiency with vasoactive and cardiac drips (e.g., Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone)
• Experience with chest tubes, trachs/laryngectomies, central line care and blood draws, and complex wound management
• Two managerial references required for consideration
• Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
