Job SummaryThe Contracts Specialist is responsible for providing assistance and guidance to faculty and research staff in the preparation, processing and submitting of research grant and contract proposals. This role monitors the performance of grant and contract awards.
Responsibilities Job Duty 1 -
Participates in proposal preparation and processing by advising faculty and staff on submission process, compliance with government regulations and Institute policy.
Submits proposals to granting agencies using electronic research submission systems. Job Duty 3 -
Evaluates or monitors contractor performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations. Job Duty 4 -
Interact with funding agencies to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and Institute policy. Job Duty 5 -
Assesses contractor service value and product/service reliability relative to cost; plans, organizes, and coordinates acquisition alternatives. Job Duty 6 -
Continually monitors and evaluates contractor performance against contract specifications and recommends appropriate remedial action as necessary. Job Duty 7 -
Serves as a primary liaison with contracting representatives to ensure compliance with contract specifications and resolution of problems and issues, as they arise; arbitrates claims or complaints occurring in performance of contracts. Job Duty 8 -
Provides input into the formulation, development, and/or revision of operating policies, procedures, and strategies for the organization, as appropriate.
Job Duty 9 -
Coordinates the contract review process; collects, routes, and tracks; note time-sensitive/expedited requirements; assists with review assignments.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Associate's Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two or more years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in grants/contracts
- Prior experience navigating enterprise software systems/databases.
