Job Details Specialty: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN) Setting: Acute care med-surg float role Location: Fort Wayne, IN 46845 Assignment Length: 22 weeks Start Date: 09/21/2026 Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130 Orientation: Jump Start orientation with hospital and nursing onboarding, including Epic training Charting System: Epic electronic health record (EHR) Floating: May float to other medical units based on patient care needs Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs Job Requirements Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) At least 1.5 years of experience in Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care At least 1 year of experience in a large hospital setting with 450 beds Strong med-surg clinical background with the ability to care for complex, diverse patient populations Experience with Epic or a similar electronic health record system preferred Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and provide flexible support to high-need units Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of conditions Perform patient assessments, care planning, and ongoing reassessments Manage medications and therapies including heparin and insulin drips, IV therapy, and blood glucose monitoring Support treatment for patients with chronic illnesses, infections, neurological conditions, and post-procedure recovery needs Use clinical tools and equipment such as IV pumps, feeding pumps, wound vacs, telemetry, and SCDs Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, effective care Document accurately in Epic and maintain organized, timely charting Float to other medical units as needed to support patient care demands Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while delivering excellent bedside care Apply now for this Travel Med/Surg RN opportunity in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and join a healthcare team committed to exceptional patient care.
