Position Overview

Cloud7Works is seeking an experienced CMMI & Process Improvement Consultant to help assess, develop, and implement organizational processes in preparation for CMMI appraisal. The consultant will identify process gaps, establish standardized procedures, develop required documentation, and guide the organization through implementation and appraisal readiness.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience implementing CMMI within IT services, technology consulting, or government contracting organizations and can translate CMMI requirements into practical, sustainable business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess existing organizational processes and identify gaps against the targeted CMMI model and maturity level.
\n
• Develop an implementation roadmap with defined milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
\n
• Develop and improve policies, standard operating procedures, process descriptions, templates, checklists, and supporting documentation.
\n
• Establish standardized and repeatable processes aligned with applicable CMMI requirements.
\n
• Help integrate process improvements into day-to-day business and project operations.
\n
• Establish methods for maintaining process records, metrics, and objective evidence required for appraisal.
\n
• Work with management and relevant team members to define process ownership, responsibilities, and implementation expectations.
\n
• Provide guidance and training to employees on new processes, procedures, and compliance requirements.
\n
• Monitor implementation progress, identify gaps, and track corrective actions through completion.
\n
• Conduct internal process reviews and readiness assessments to evaluate implementation effectiveness.
\n
• Coordinate with the designated appraisal provider and support preparation for the formal CMMI appraisal.
\n

Required Qualifications:

\n
• Demonstrated experience implementing CMMI and leading organizational process improvement initiatives.
\n
• Strong understanding of CMMI models, maturity levels, process areas, and appraisal requirements.
\n
• Experience conducting gap assessments, developing process documentation, and implementing standardized procedures.
\n
• Proven ability to prepare organizations for CMMI appraisal and establish sustainable process practices.
\n
• Strong analytical, project management, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and deliver project milestones within agreed timelines.
\n

Preferred Qualifications:

\n
• Experience working with federal IT services companies, government contractors, or technology consulting organizations.
\n
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and continuous improvement practices.
\n
• Experience coordinating with authorized CMMI appraisal providers.
\n

• Standardized process documentation, policies, procedures, and templates.

• Process implementation plan and evidence-tracking framework.
\n
• Progress reports and gap-closure tracker.
\n
• Internal appraisal-readiness assessment and recommendations.

• Support for appraisal preparation within the agreed scope of work.

Engagement Details:

This is a project-based independent contractor engagement. The consultant will work with Cloud7Works management to establish the project scope, milestones, deliverables, and timeline. The focus is on practical process implementation and sustainable improvements, rather than documentation alone.
