Clinical Supervisor

Salary Range: $75,000 - $115,000 ORGANIZATION The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) is a founder‑owned organization that treats individuals of all ages diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder using applied behavior analysis (ABA). CARD operates across the United States and is committed to providing top‑quality, individualized treatment programs to help every patient fulfill their potential and live joyful lives. 3700 W. Mineral King Ave., Visalia, California 93291 POSITION OVERVIEW The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for all clinical aspects of treatment for the patients they oversee. This includes assessment and analysis of patient skills and challenging behaviors, development of treatment plans, oversight of implementation, collaboration and training with caregivers, and ongoing coaching of behavioral technicians. Treatment plans address medical necessity and may occur in the CARD center, patient’s home, school, community, or via telehealth. Clinical Supervisors report to the Group Clinical Manager and are salaried, exempt, full‑time employees. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Use clinical judgment to promote optimal outcomes for each patient. Develop and maintain treatment plans. Ensure all supervision hours achieve 100% treatment adherence each month. Evaluate patients to identify skill deficits and strengths. Analyze challenging behaviors to identify their function. Develop functionally relevant treatment plans to reduce challenging behaviors. Observe treatment implementation for potential program revisions. Monitor treatment integrity to ensure satisfactory implementation of protocols. Direct behavior technicians in new or revised treatment protocols. Provide ongoing coaching and training to behavioral technicians. Work physically within the center to support technicians and follow best practices of direct observation. Summarize and analyze data to evaluate patient progress toward treatment goals and adjust protocols based upon data. Update treatment plans at least once per month based upon patient response. Fulfill a minimum of 120 payor/client authorized billable hours per month, inclusive of supervisory and therapy hours. Accurately communicate treatment response to stakeholders, including caregivers and payers. Coordinate care with other professionals. Administer, complete, and score standardized assessments. Include caregiver as part of the treatment team, evidenced by consistent caregiver collaboration meetings. Interact with payers in a collaborative, professional, thorough, and informative manner. Engage with payers as needed for funding meetings such as IEP, peer reviews. Stay up to date on best practices for ABA treatment to ensure clinical excellence. Maintain appropriate documentation in Skills and the patient’s medical record. Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues. Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues. Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements at all times. Partner consistently and effectively with center leadership, including Operations Manager, Clinical Supervisors, Administrative Coordinator Technician, and Behavior Technician Leads. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field. Certification as a behavior analyst from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Empathetic and compassionate, maintaining strict confidentiality. Collaborative with a positive, solution‑focused attitude. Independent problem‑solving and exercise of clinical judgment. Effective oral and written communication. Excellent time‑management skills in a fast‑paced, changing environment. Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook; able to use new systems and iPads. Desire to continuously learn and develop skillsets. Willingness to work in various locations (center, patient home, etc.). Willingness to work with a variety of patients. Reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance. Must pass a tuberculosis test. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. WORK ENVIRONMENT Treatment may occur in patient homes, the CARD center, schools, the community, or via telehealth. Clinical Supervisors work indoors and outdoors and may move between locations throughout the workday. Environments can be noisy and unpredictable. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Be able to work with patients seated on the floor, in small chairs, or other settings. Move frequently to gather materials, anticipate and respond to patient movements, and provide instruction in various settings such as schools and community locations. Constantly position oneself to respond to patient movements and behaviors, including bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Utilize continuous visual tracking to monitor patient movement and the surrounding environment. Occasionally evade aggressive behaviors, physically block attempts to harm others, and bear the weight of a leaning or pushing patient. Frequently teach patients to use vocal speech and model clear speech. Occasionally model gross and fine motor skills such as climbing, jumping, clapping, or opening a container. Work in both indoor and outdoor settings, including varied weather conditions. Lift up to 30 lbs. while assisting patients.
