Your Day to Day Life We are looking for an HR Business Partner in the West Coast region or Greater Chicago Area. The role supports a broad multi‑state employee population and serves as a key advisor to business leaders across the region, managing a client group of 400+ employees. Key responsibilities include: Serving as the trusted advisor to production and lab leaders across the West Coast. Leading labor relations strategies. Driving employee engagement initiatives. Managing complex employee relations issues with confidence and objectivity. Applying deep knowledge of California employment law to protect both people and business. Influencing organizational structure, change efforts, and people planning. Partnering with Legal and HR Centers of Excellence to execute high‑impact people strategies. Balancing strategic HR partnership with day‑to‑day execution. Objective This HR Business Partner role supports a broad, multi‑state employee population and serves as a key advisor to business leaders across the region. Success requires strong expertise in navigating multi‑state employment environments, with high proficiency in California employment law. Your Profile What we’re looking for: 4–5 years of HRBP experience (or equivalent senior generalist experience in a strategic role). At least 5+ years of HR experience resolving complex employee relations issues. Strong background in employee relations and engagement programs. Experience supporting production or lab‑based teams; food industry experience a plus. Fluency in California employment law. Proven ability to coach leaders, influence without authority, and drive organizational change. Confidence working independently as an HRBP team of one in a region. Experience supporting large, complex client groups with 400+ employees across multiple locations. Strong working knowledge of multi‑state employment practices and experience supporting geographically dispersed teams. Deep, hands‑on experience with California employment law, including employee relations, compliance, and risk mitigation in a business partner capacity. Demonstrated leadership within the HR function, including mentoring, guiding, or directly leading other HR professionals. Ability to influence and support leaders while developing HR talent and capability within a region or function. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% to support business and stakeholder needs. What Success Looks Like Leads with curiosity and collaboration. Compensation Package Overview Salary: $110,000–$125,000 annually USD (US only). Potential bonus: Up to 10% of annual salary based on performance.
