Tool Technician
The Tool Technician plays a key role in supporting large-scale solar tracking system installations by maintaining, servicing, and repairing hydraulic riveting tools and diesel pumps used on site. This position focuses on ensuring all tools and equipment operate safely, reliably, and efficiently in a dynamic field environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair hydraulic riveting tools and diesel pumps used in solar tracking system installations.
- Perform routine service and preventive maintenance on tools, motors, and related mechanical equipment.
- Inspect equipment to identify faults, diagnose issues, and carry out effective repairs.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and motor-related problems to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to all company and worksite safety standards and protocols at all times.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient mobile workspace and tool area.
- Communicate clearly with the lead mechanic and site team regarding equipment status, needs, and repair timelines.
- Apply basic problem-solving skills to address unexpected equipment issues in the field.
- Support the installation team by ensuring tools and equipment are ready and available for use throughout the project.
Work Environment
This position is based directly on a solar project site and operates out of a mobile shop equipped with the hand tools and equipment needed to perform maintenance and repairs on hydraulic tools and diesel pumps. You will work closely with and be guided by a lead mechanic in a hands-on, field-based setting. The environment emphasizes safety and teamwork. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toe boots provided by the client, hard hat, safety glasses, and a high-visibility vest, reflecting the industrial and construction nature of the worksite.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
