Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives working on site as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist with a supportive school environment. This opportunity focuses on providing essential speech therapy services to 3rd through 6th graders, helping them reach their fullest potential both academically and socially. The role begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of the 2026-2027 school year, with a manageable schedule of 15 hours per week across two days.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Alabama SLP licensure (ABESPA AL SLP Certification and/or Alabama DOE SLP Certification, with flexibility to start if one is pending)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working in educational settings, particularly with elementary and middle grade children
- Demonstrated ability to assess, diagnose, and implement individualized treatment plans for speech and language disorders
- Strong communication skills, collaborative approach with educators, families, and support staff
- Dedication to supporting students’ social and academic development
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for 3rd to 6th grade students
- Develop and deliver targeted therapy sessions in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support students’ progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting for student cases
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise on communication concerns
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment
