FIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fiberglass Assembly will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.

FIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment
• Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
• Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
• Sets up production machines following prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment
• Chooses, aligns, and securely attaches holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and other materials on machines
• Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances
• Identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjusts controls of machine to correct errors
• Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup
• Starts or restarts equipment after power outages or interruptions
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area

FIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree OR completion of related apprenticeship program preferred
• At least one year of related experience required
• Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements

FIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure
• interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

• Good communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departments must read and write in English to fill out daily reports

FIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
• Required regularly to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

• Must be able to squat, stand, stoop bend down, for long periods of time.
• Required to occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and talk or hear.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull a minimum of 75lbs and maximum of 100lbs.

• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.

This position is designated as “safety sensitive” pursuant to A.R.S. Sections 23-493(9) and 23-493.06(7).)

Compensation details: 18.5-20 Hourly Wage
