About the Role This company designs and engineers In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) solutions. Their products cover media distribution, playback, and networking in an on-wing environment, and are utilized by many of the world's premier air carriers.

Onsite Contract-to-Hire

This role has potential to convert to a full-time hire after 6 months, based on performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and integration of electronics, mechanical assemblies, and user interfaces, including PCBAs, switches, sensors, buttons, screens, power supplies, wiring, and cable management
• Experience designing LRUs to meet FAA certification requirements such as DO-160
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM
• Experience creating drawings with GD&T (dimensions and tolerances) per ASME Y14.5
• Proficiency in thermal management techniques
• Experience designing injection-molded, sheet metal, die-cast, machined, stamped, and die-cut parts
• Experience with technical ownership of mechanical designs, including system assembly throughout the design, development, production, and support phases

Responsibilities

• Lead product development activities ranging from conceptual development, prototyping, and design validation through to manufacturing
• Integrate electronics, mechanical assemblies, and user interfaces, including PCBAs, switches, sensors, buttons, screens, power supplies, wiring, and cable management
• Develop handheld user interfaces, systems, and components
• Perform root-cause analysis of issues detected during development, engineering testing, and qualification
• Design assembly fixtures
