Patient ratios are 6:1 during the day and 7:1 at night. Staffing includes 3 techs per shift and unit secretaries on day shift. Equipped with IVs, Kangaroo pumps, and SCDs. Documentation is done using a specific system. Requires every other weekend scheduling. Floating policy applies; staff may rotate to other appropriate areas as needed. Emphasis on patient experience and care quality. Additional unit-specific policies and guidelines available upon request. Prospective candidates should know about the supportive environment and experienced staff. Consideration for new equipment or technology as part of the assignment appeal. Recognition and awards for outstanding department performance may be available.
