Assistant Girls Bowling Coach

Position Description Jacobs High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of an assistant Girls Bowling Coach, with a strong knowledge of IHSA Bowling and a focus on student‑athletic achievement. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, coach various areas within the program, be organized, flexible, take direction from the direct supervisor, and work with parents and the Booster Club. 2026 – 2027 School Year Position for the 2026-2027 academic year. Performance Responsibilities, Requirements, and Qualifications Previous IHSA Bowling coaching experience is required. Must be able to manage all levels within the program, manage various areas, be organized, flexible, take direction from the direct supervisor, work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club. Enhance, improve, and maximize students’ athletic skills required to compete at a high level. Lead the athletic program for sustained participation and success. Support student‑athlete’s strength and speed training, fundraising, organization of equipment, and other tasks as directed to maximize student achievement and ensure accurate records are maintained. Work with the Athletic Department to assure all games, officials, and transportation are scheduled. Maintain accurate records of equipment for the entire program. Organize and oversee all program levels and areas of responsibility. Communicate with the Athletic Director to secure facilities to ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students. Set the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning to maximize the student‑athlete experience. Communicate and plan with the assistant coach practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical well‑being of the student participants. Coordinate with the Athletic Director all in‑season practices. Assure that all student participants at his/her program level are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and academic eligibility prior to practice, tryout, and competition. Model and instill the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants, and enforce consequences for breaches of such standards. Attend all student‑athlete practices and games, and monitor proper supervision at all practices, games, and on school‑provided transportation. Maintain and provide the athletic director with end‑of‑season individual and team records and statistics. Participate in mandatory preseason parent meetings and head coaching minutes. Plan for seasonal student‑athlete recognition. Distribute and collect uniforms and equipment. Engage in personal professional development activities.
