Pega Lead Developer Duration: 18-month contract that may extend Location: Hybrid 3 days in one of the following areas Charlotte NC (CIC) Irving TX, or Chandler AZ Schedule: Monday -Friday Interview process: 30-minute virtual tech panel and a 1 hour onsite in respective location This is a backfill Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Pega Lead Developer with strong expertise in Pega Case Management and system integrations. This role combines technical leadership with active development responsibilities. The ideal candidate will design and build high-quality Pega solutions while helping team members, enforcing best practices, and partnering closely with architects, product owners, and integration teams. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of Pega applications, with a strong emphasis on case management and workflow orchestration Actively contribute to development (rules, flows, integrations, UI, decisioning) as a hands-on lead, not just oversight Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable Pega designs Ensuring solutions align with Pega Guardrails, performance standards, and enterprise architecture guidelines Design and implement end-to-end case lifecycles, including stages, steps, SLAs, approvals, and escalations Leverage case types, subcases, spin-offs, and wait shapes effectively Optimize user experience for case workers using Pega UX (sections, views, dashboards) Design and implement integrations using: REST and SOAP services Connectors and Services Pega Integration Patterns (Sync/Async, Queue Processors, etc.) Collaborate with downstream and upstream system teams to define interface contracts Troubleshoot and resolve integration and performance issues Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, hands-on guidance Set coding standards and reusable assets to improve team efficiency Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and defect resolution Support deployment activities and production troubleshooting when needed Ensure compliance with security, audit, and operational standards Required Qualifications 5+ years of Pega platform experience, with significant hands-on development Strong expertise in Pega Case Management Proven experience with Pega system integrations (REST/SOAP, services, connectors) Solid understanding of: Pega rules engine Flow rules, decision tables, data pages Performance tuning and troubleshooting Experience leading or mentoring development teams Pega certifications such as CSSA and/or CLSA Preferred Qualifications Experience with Pega Infinity (latest versions preferred) Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for Pega Knowledge of cloud Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments What Were Looking For A hands-on leader who codes daily and leads by example Strong communicator who can work across technical and non-technical teams Problem-solver with a passion for building high-quality, scalable solutions Top Skills 8+ years of IT experience 5+ years of hands on Pega engineering experience Complex case management (Jira/Confluence a plus) System integration (Rest API) Nice to Have CSSA certified Cloud migration experience nice to have, any cloud Having a product where they build and maintain multiple internal projects in TCOO, there are 14 apps being supported. This person may be assigned to multiple different apps, usually not more than 2 at a time. Will use Pega for workflow automation. Looking for Lead level experience capable of hands-on coding with Pega. Team should be able to go to this person for guidance, code review, advice, and advice. Are in the middle of cloud migration, someone with cloud migration experience would be a plus. Have seen a lot of coordinators who havent been hands on coders. Are not looking for a middleman, need to be able to do the coding work, not people who have managed the team.
