Senior System Administrator, Tier-2 Level Support Services

Job Description ASRC Federal is currently seeking a Senior Systems Administrator – Tier-2 Level to support upcoming work located in San Antonio, TX. Clearance: U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Public Trust. Must be willing and able to work on-call, shift or surge if required, and flexible to travel when necessary. Must have a Real ID and a valid passport. Work arrangement: This position will require on-site occupancy at or near the Ft Sam Houston location. Core hours are 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, except for surge or on-call staff. Telework may be considered on a position-by-position basis with customer approval. Responsibilities: Manage subordinate personnel, including onboarding, exiting, timecard accounting, performance reviews, mentoring, and reporting. Provide 24/7/365 tier-2 continuous operations support, maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise-level products and services (servers, end‑user devices, firmware, software). Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues involving server patches, configurations, software, and scheduled maintenance events; use information‑assurance tools to validate security patches. Modify, create, and configure Active Directory user accounts; recover and restore AD objects; support mobile computing and end‑user devices (resetting and configuring). Identify and troubleshoot Enterprise Management issues related to patches and servers; resolve data‑at‑rest problems. Provide site administrator support and Enterprise monitoring for Group Policy Objects; implement initial troubleshooting and add security groups to policies. Perform system administration tasks on enterprise servers and end‑user clients; manage scheduled lockout conditions, initiate data‑recovery operations, and unlock machines; administer password management. Remotely access government equipment when required, and if issues cannot be resolved locally, escalate to Enterprise Operations (Tier 3). Provide de‑escalation path back to lower tier. Monitor enterprise assets through System Center Operations Manager, Quest Suite, and related applications; maintain core services and produce UDR, SITREP, AAR, Info Paper, and EXSUM documents for outages. Operate, maintain, and administer the MED365 tenancy; fulfill roles for User, License, Teams, SharePoint, Security, Authentication, Global, Exchange, and Help‑Desk administration. Manage Azure Information Protection functions, user data retention policies, litigation hold, and e‑Discovery licensing. Perform content searches for security incidents (e.g., unauthorized disclosure, FOIA, C‑I, personally identified information, malicious content) and respond accordingly. Maintain tenant federation with all other DoD tenants; adhere to DoD security requirements, STIG, Tasking Orders, CYBERCOM Orders. Coordinate with CSSP/DCO team on cyber incidents; provide logs; remove user access per instructions. Advise and coordinate with PMO ISSM on changes, monitor technical security events, manage spillage events, review security configurations. Follow change‑management practices to schedule and implement approved changes and notify stakeholders. Requirements: U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain or maintain a Public Trust. Successful completion of a government‑issued background investigation. Flexibility to travel when necessary; must have Real ID and a U.S. Passport. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline – or 10 years of experience with a BA/BS degree – or 6 years of experience with an MA/MS degree – or 15 years of experience with an AA/AS degree or high‑school diploma. Required Certifications: Applicants must obtain required certifications within six months of assignment. Desired skills: Interface with users in a pleasant and tactful manner; be self‑motivated; quickly learn new IT technologies; work occasional non‑standard hours; be a team player and work independently with limited direction.
