Junior System Administrator, Tier-2 Level Support Services

Job Description Position: Junior Systems Administrator – Tier‑2 Level (San Antonio, TX) Summary: Provide 24/7/365 operations support to the customer. Must be able and willing to work on‑call, shift, or surge if required, be flexible and travel when necessary. A Real ID and current U.S. passport are required. Work Arrangement: On‑site at or near Ft Sam Houston; core hours 6:00 am–6:00 pm, with shift‑work or on‑call as needed. Telework may be considered on a position‑by‑position basis with customer approval. Responsibilities Support the Tier 2 continuous operations mission (24x7). Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise products and services, including servers, end‑user devices, firmware, and software. Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues involving server patches, configurations, software, and scheduled maintenance events. Use Information Assurance tools to validate security patches. Modify, create, and configure Active Directory (AD) user accounts; recover and restore AD objects. Support mobile computing and end‑user devices, including resetting and configuring devices. Identify and troubleshoot Enterprise Management (EM) issues related to patches and servers; resolve Data‑at‑Rest (DAR) issues. Provide Site Administrator support and enterprise monitoring for Group Policy Objects (GPO); initial troubleshooting and adding security groups to group policies. Perform system administration tasks on enterprise servers and client machines. Extend scheduled lockout, initiate data recovery, and unlock machines as required. Install, administer, and perform password management for enterprise software. Remotely access government equipment as needed. Escalate unresolved issues to Tier 3 operations and provide the de‑escalation path back to lower tiers. Monitor enterprise assets via System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Quest Suite, and related applications. Ensure core services run at normal production levels. Create and distribute incident documents such as Unscheduled Downtime Reports (UDR), SITREPs, After Action Reports (AAR), Information Papers, and Executive Summary (EXSUM) for critical service outages. Operate, maintain, and administer the MED365 tenancy. Fulfill roles including User Admin, License Admin, Teams Admin, SharePoint Admin, Security Admin, Authentication Admin, Global Admin, Exchange Admin, and Help Desk Admin. Perform administrative functions associated with Azure Information Protection, data labeling, and control. Manage retention policies, including litigation hold, and review licensing assignments related to eDiscovery. Conduct content searches for scenarios such as Unauthorized Disclosure, FOIA, Law Enforcement/Counterintelligence, PII, or malicious content, and take appropriate action. Ensure tenant federation with all other DoD tenants per STIG, Tasking Orders, and CYBERCOM Orders. Interact with CSSP/DCO team on cyber incidents, provide logs, and remove user access or content as directed. Coordinate with PMO ISSM and implement any changes, manage technical security events, and review configurations for secure environment. Follow change management practices to schedule and implement approved changes and notify stakeholders of maintenance events. Requirements U.S. Citizen with Public Trust clearance. Successful completion of a government background investigation. Real ID and ability to obtain a U.S. passport. Willingness to travel as needed. Education Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with a BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline. OR, with a BA/BS degree, minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in the same fields. OR, AA/AS degree or high school diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.
