Human Resources Intern

Printemps New York

Printemps New York offering a 6-month unpaid internship opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator Intern. This role is intended as an educational experience, supporting the HR team in day-to-day coordination and administrative activities that contribute to a seamless and elevated employee journey. You bring curiosity for luxury retail and/or ultra-luxury hospitality environments, where excellence, discretion, and service culture are foundational. Naturally attentive and composed, you are comfortable operating in fast-paced settings where priorities evolve quickly. You demonstrate strong sensitivity to detail, structure, and human interaction, approaching each task with care, professionalism, and consistency. Calm under pressure, you understand the importance of reliability, discretion, and emotional intelligence in HR environments. This internship offers the opportunity to develop core Human Resources skills while learning the elevated standards and operational excellence that define Printemps New York. Payroll & HR Operations Support payroll preparation (bi-weekly) Ensure accuracy and integrity of employee data impacting compensation Process and track all payroll-related changes (hires, terminations, transfers, bonuses, status updates) Human Resources Administration Oversee the full employee lifecycle (onboarding, mobility, offboarding) Prepare and issue employment offer letters, and HR documentation Maintain employee files with precision and confidentiality Ensure compliance with employment regulations and internal procedures Recruitment & Onboarding Coordinate job postings Support candidate sourcing, screening, and interview coordination Conduct reference checks and pre-employment verification processes Manage pre-boarding and onboarding journeys with a high-touch experience approach Deliver structured and welcoming new hire orientations Employee Experience & Culture Support the development and execution of employee engagement initiatives Contribute to well-being programs and cultural activations Assist in DEI initiatives and internal communication campaigns Help build curated local partnerships (well-being, lifestyle, hospitality) Employee Relations & HR Support Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries with professionalism and discretion Support HR leadership in handling employee relations matters Assist in documentation, follow-ups, and case tracking Ensure timely, respectful, and consistent employee communication Internal Communication & Branding Design and distribute internal HR communications and newsletters Support visual storytelling across internal platforms (screens, flyers, announcements) Contribute to the consistency of the employee brand experience HR Systems & Reporting Ensure data integrity within HRIS systems at all times Generate and analyze HR reports (headcount, turnover, compliance, etc.) Support dashboard creation and Excel-based reporting Assist with HR audits and data governance requirements Not eligible for home office; this position requires full on-site presence. Personal Attributes Impeccable attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence Calm, composed, and highly efficient in high-pressure situations Confident public speaking ability and comfortable in formal presentations Capable of handling conflict situations with professionalism and emotional intelligence High level of discretion, trustworthiness, and professionalism Proactive, autonomous, and solution-oriented mindset Strong ability to prioritize, delegate tasks, and manage workload based on urgency and complexity Naturally personable, sociable, and service-oriented with a strong sense of hospitality and excellence Qualifications A first experience in HR within luxury retail and/or hospitality environments, where excellence, discretion, and elevated service standards are second nature. Spanish language proficiency is a strong advantage. Strong knowledge of HRIS and ATS systems, with experience in data entry, reporting, and updates (specific platforms a plus) Understanding of payroll processes and HR operations Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong data accuracy and analytical mindset Proficiency with Canva and visual communication tools Ability to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work under pressure in fast-paced, high-demand environments Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of discretion, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Understanding of compliance regulations and HR best practices Printemps provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
