30-40 hours/week - hours negotiable but sample breakdown as below...

1 admin day/week

1 long day/week ~8a-7p

2 days ~8a-5p

1 half day ~8a-12p

Most appointments are 30 minutes starting 30 minutes after start time and ending 30 minutes before the end of the day

Average of 15 patients a day on regular day, 19 on a long day

Patient population –

We are a FQHC serving a rural area, so numerous patients have multiple co-morbidities, variety of insurances, or no insurance at all.

Physician will see all ages but there is an in-house behavioral health service to assist - both therapy and psychiatry.

Job Summary: 

We are looking for attentive, conscientious candidates with training in diverse medical areas for the position of family medicine doctor. Family doctors are expected to treat a wide range of medical conditions, develop long-term, personal relationships with their patients, produce individualized healthcare programs based on patient historical data, and offer continuous support and health management advice. 

Family doctors should take a vested interest in a patient's well-being. This is achieved by demonstrating good listening skills, showing empathy, and understanding, and communicating clearly and effectively. Also, recommend external specialists when patients require treatment outside of your medical purview.

Responsibilities:

• Develop personal relationships with patients.
• Create patient-specific health programs that make use of historical data.
• Monitor and adapt individualized health programs over time.
• Schedule and administer follow-up examinations.
• Make use of patient health data in medical analyses.
• Offer comprehensive wellness exams.
• Administering vaccinations.
• Perform medical operations.
• Recommending specialists for treatment outside of their capacity.
• Educating patients in health management and disease prevention.
• Offer birthing services.

Requirements:

• Current Internal Medicine Doctor license in state of practice required.
• Completion of a 3-year family practice residency.
• Family Doctor must be BC/BE.
• Five (5) plus years of experience.
• The ability to communicate information in layman terms to patients and/or their families.
• Is compassionate and warm towards patients, who often suffer from painful and debilitating conditions.
