Senior Principal Integration Architect

Role Overview

The Senior Principal Integration Architect at MiniMed will lead the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise integration and data movement architecture across complex B2B and B2C ecosystems. This strategic technology leader focuses on API‑led integrations, event‑driven platforms, and ETL/data pipelines, with deep expertise in webMethods, Kafka, SAP Integration Suite (BTP), and enterprise ETL patterns.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise integration and data movement reference architecture, including API‑led integration, event‑driven architecture (EDA), ETL/ELT data pipelines, B2B/EDI integrations, and hybrid cloud/on‑prem data flows.
• Drive modernization of legacy ETL and point‑to‑point integrations into scalable, reusable, and event‑enabled architectures.
• Establish standards, patterns, and governance for both real‑time and batch data integrations.
• Serve as architectural authority for webMethods (Integration Server, Trading Networks, B2B/EDI, API Gateway), Kafka (event streaming, real‑time data ingestion, pub/sub), SAP Integration Suite (BTP) (Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh), and enterprise ETL frameworks and tools.
• Design and govern high‑volume, high‑throughput data integrations, including transactional, master, and analytical data feeds.
• Lead platform rationalization, cost optimization, and performance tuning across data integration platforms.
• Architect and govern ETL/ELT solutions supporting data warehouses, data lakes, reporting and analytics platforms, and operational data stores.
• Define and enforce patterns for batch vs. near‑real‑time data movement, change data capture (CDC), data transformation, enrichment, and validation.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and traceability across integration and ETL pipelines.
• Partner with Data & Analytics teams to align integration architecture with the data platform strategy.
• Enable B2B integrations (EDI X12, EDIFACT), partner onboarding and certification, secure file‑based and message‑based data exchanges, and B2C and external‑facing integrations supporting digital channels, real‑time APIs, event streams, and customer/partner data synchronization.
• Ensure scalability, security, and SLA adherence for external data flows.
• Architect integrations for SAP S/4HANA and ECC ecosystems, design ETL and integration patterns for order‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay, finance and controlling, and master‑data governance.
• Establish and enforce API and event governance, ETL design, data schema, transformation, and versioning standards.
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to ensure secure data transport (OAuth2, mTLS, certificates), data privacy, regulatory compliance, high availability, disaster recovery, fault tolerance, replayability, monitoring, alerting, and observability across integrations and ETL pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience in enterprise integration, ETL, and event streaming across B2B and B2C environments.
• Deep expertise in webMethods, Kafka, SAP Integration Suite (BTP), and enterprise ETL frameworks.
• Proven ability to define architecture strategy, create reference models, and establish governance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of API management, event mesh, data governance, security, and compliance.

Benefits & Compensation

Competitive salary range U.S. (USD): $164,000.00 – $278,000.00, with additional short‑term incentive opportunities.
