Must-Have:

LVN with 1 year experience required to cover a medical oncology clinic.First time travelers are welcome.5 x 8 shifts, Monday through Friday, no weekends.Occasional float may be required.Patient care team includes Nurse Practitioners and Oncologists in-house.Phlebotomy support is available.Scrubs required (not provided).

Description:This position seeks an LVN with the ability to work in a medical oncology setting.Experience in outpatient/urgent care clinics is essential.Candidate must be skilled in EPIC charting.Required skills include administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous medications.Candidate should be proficient in oral medication administration and capable of performing central line blood draws and dressing changes.Experience with IV pumps and monitoring blood product administration is also necessary.Phlebotomy skills are required, along with the ability to start IVs.Preferred skills include colostomy care and instructing on clean catch urine collection.Experience in managing symptoms can include ascites, constipation, diarrhea, and nausea/vomiting.Candidate should be able to provide patient and family education and support.Goal setting with patients and families is also part of this role.Familiarity with medical and surgical oncology is preferred.Communication of patient status changes to the RN and physician is critical.Pain assessment and management expertise is necessary.Experience with telephone triage and vaccine administration is a plus.Vital sign monitoring is required.Wound care experience, including wound vacs, drains, and JP/Hemovac care, is also preferred.
