Together, we work towards a unified goal of helping millions of Americans achieve aspirations of homeownership through the complete mortgage journey.A Typical DayThe General Accounting Manager is responsible for oversight of general accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, monitoring of the monthly closing process and completion of the monthly consolidation process. As the Accounting Manager, you will maintain general ledger integrity, including processing and balancing of general ledger data, and processing of year-end.The General Accounting Manager will:Maintain closing calendar and company chart of accountsMonitor account reconciliation statusDevelop and document accounting policies and proceduresIdentify opportunities for accounting process efficiencies including technology solutionsPerform general accounting responsibilities, including analysis and adjustment of accruals and analysis and recording of non-standard transactionsPerform other related duties as required and assignedDemonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and valuesWhat You’ll BringBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience7+ years of relevant work experienceProficiency in general ledger software and related modulesAbility to use general ledger software for purposes of posting transactions, querying account activity and producing general ledger-based reportsAwareness of control responsibilities and requirements relating to financial reporting in order to meet the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002Must be highly proficient in Excel and WordWhy You Should JoinAs one of the top mortgage lenders in the country, Pennymac has helped over 4 million lifetime homeowners achieve and sustain their aspirations of home.
