Project Accountant

Seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. This position reports to the CFO and will be involved in a wide range of accounting functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong accounting skills. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a construction or construction management environment. Procore experience preferred. Understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to independently research discrepancies and bring issues through resolution. Duties Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy and export from our project management system to our accounting system. Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies of outstanding balances. Process and manage accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments. Process accounts receivable transactions, monitor collections and maintain customer account records. Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate coding and processing of financial transactions. Process checks and EFT payments Maintain accurate vendor records, W-9s and related documents. Support project managers and internal teams with accounting and project related financial questions. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances. Maintain fixed asset records, reconciliations, depreciation, disposals, and supporting documentation. Process monthly sales and use tax payments. Manage IT subscriptions and vendor billings. Review subcontractor pre-qualifications and follow up on missing information. Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations. Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations. Assist with job costing and financial reporting.
