Clinic Registration Officer

We are seeking a Clinic Registration Officer for a contract/temporary opportunity in San Juan, PR. This administrative healthcare role supports special programs and integrated medical services by helping patients navigate appointments, records, eligibility, and clinic services.

The Clinic Registration Officer plays an important role in delivering a positive patient experience while supporting a busy, service-focused clinical environment. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented administrative professional with customer service experience who enjoys patient interaction, organized follow-up, and contributing to healthcare access and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and promote information about special programs, clinic services, and integrated medical services for patients and the general public.
- Schedule, confirm, cancel, reschedule, and follow up on patient appointments, including visits with subspecialists when needed.
- Create, update, organize, and maintain complete patient records, activity logs, reports, metrics, and program documentation.
- Process benefits eligibility and service preauthorization with insurance companies or employers when applicable.
- Respond promptly to phone calls and emails, providing patient guidance, appointment support, service information, and follow-up.
- Support outreach activities, health fairs, department meetings, general office tasks, filing, coding, photocopying, invoice review, and related administrative duties.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $11.00 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Associate degree in Office Systems, Data Entry, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or at least 60 to 64 completed college credits.
- Six months to one year of customer service experience required, preferably in healthcare services or health insurance.
- Strong administrative, data entry, filing, documentation, and record maintenance skills.
- Professional phone and email communication skills with the ability to assist patients clearly and courteously.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage follow-up tasks accurately.
- Ability to work effectively in a patient-centered clinical environment and follow established department protocols and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a clinic, medical office, healthcare services, or health insurance environment.
- Familiarity with appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance eligibility, or service preauthorization processes.
- Experience supporting community outreach, health fairs, patient programs, or client retention activities.
