The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing routine accounting tasks, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain and update financial records in accordance with company policies and GAAP
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management
• Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset schedules
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures
• Assist in tax filings and research
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies or issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 13 years of accounting experience (internships included)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles
• Proficiency with accounting software
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in corporate accounting or public accounting
• CPA or CPA-track candidates
• Familiarity with ERP systems and automated accounting tools (Epicor/Solar Eclipse experience desired)
• Desire for continuous improvement, team player, high integrity, positive "can do" attitude, able to meet deadlines

Work Environment

• Full-time position, Monday through Friday in Corydon, Indiana, with some flexibility after initial training period
• Collaborative team environment with opportunities for growth
