Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (OR)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Expected 32 hours/week | 4 x 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM with a rotating day off | On-call expectations apply (see below)

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in a wide range of surgical cases including orthopedic (total joints, sports injury, trauma), general surgery (colectomies, cholecystectomy with IOC, hernias, mastectomies), urology, GI (upper and lower endoscopies), GYN, C-sections, and cataracts
• Maintain sterile field and assist surgical team throughout operative procedures
• Participate in an on-call rotation of approximately 8 days per month, including weekend and holiday call coverage
• Weekend on-call rotation: one weekend per month, Friday 3:15 PM through Monday 6:45 AM
• Weekday on-call: end of shift (3:15 PM) through 6:45 AM the following morning
• Holiday on-call: 24-hour coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

Required Qualifications

• National certification required at time of submission: NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT
• AHA BLS certification required
• Tdap vaccination required (valid every 10 years); declination not accepted
• Vision assessment required as part of physical exam
• N95 Respirator Fit Test required
• TB screening via IGRA blood test (QFT or T-SPOT) required within 30 days of hire date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience scrubbing orthopedic cases including total joints and trauma
• Familiarity with general surgery, GYN, urology, and GI endoscopy procedures
• Prior travel or contract surgical tech experience
