Fabrication Manager

Job TitleThis role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.Position ResponsibilitiesManages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplinesDevelop and lead strategies to improve on-time delivery, cost efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity through continuous improvement initiatives.Determine future staffing needs, develop team capabilities, and conduct performance reviews for subordinates.Collaborate with various support functions on new or changing statements of work and communicate effectively with internal customers to expedite the fabrication of details and assemblies.Apply process management and improvement techniques, using problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and efficient solutions to fabrication challenges.Facilitate work teams, provide training, and interface with internal organizations and external customers for project planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Customer teams to resolve issues and improve performanceSupport employee development through coaching, mentoring, and performance managementPromote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellenceBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Aviation, or Machining, including a manufacturing environment5+ years of leadership or management experiencePrior experience working with cross-functional groupsFlexibility to work on 2nd, 3rd, or alternative work week shiftsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or business-related fieldExperience leading projects while managing schedules, budgets, and operational objectivesKnowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processesExperience with SAP and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience working within a unionized manufacturing environment and managing collective bargaining agreementsDrug Free Workplace:We are a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:We strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
