The Role

• Represent clients in dissolution, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time, child support, maintenance, and property division

• Handle matters from consultation through settlement or trial, including high-net-worth and business-valuation disputes

• Appear in Cook, Lake, DuPage, and the collar counties for motions, pretrials, and trials

• Draft pleadings, discovery, marital settlement agreements, parenting plans, and premarital agreements

• Negotiate with opposing counsel and appear in mediation and settlement conferences

• Work with forensic accountants, business valuators, and custody evaluators on complex financial and parenting issues

• Every case is partner-staffed. You work with a partner, not beneath one. You will second-chair complex trials before you first-chair them - and you will first-chair when you are ready, not when a calendar says so.

• Your drafts come back marked up. Motions, agreements, and discovery get real edits and a real explanation of why the change matters.

• Moot your argument before you make it. Walk down the hall, put your motion in front of a lawyer who has tried the issue, and fix it before the judge does.

• Open doors for the five-minute question. The best training happens between hearings, not in a scheduled quarterly review.

What You Bring

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Licensed in Illinois and in good standing

• 3-10 years of experience, ideally in family law, with courtroom exposure and an appetite for more

• Sharp drafting, negotiation, and client-counseling skills

• The judgment to settle when settlement serves the client - and the nerve to try the case when it does not

• Ownership of your files: deadlines met, clients informed, no reminders needed

• Coachability. You take a hard edit well, ask when you are unsure, and do not confuse confidence with competence.

• A preference for working in the office, next to your team

What We Offer

• Base salary of $120,000 - $250,000, set by experience

• Performance bonus

Pay: $90,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
