Description

This job category series performs a variety of functions in conducting administrative and technical duties related to customer service in accordance with District policies and procedures and will be responsible for answering customer inquiries, payment procedures, maintenance of customer account records, clerical tasks, and other duties as assigned.

Customer Service Representative I

This position works under close supervision, persons in this position will perform a variety of customer service duties, including answering customer inquiries, payment procedures, maintenance of customer account records, clerical tasks, etc.

Customer Service Representative II

This is a mid-level position and is distinguished from the Customer Service Representative I level by the assignment of additional duties. Persons in this position are more familiar with the operating procedures and policies within the work unit and receive regular instruction and supervision.

Customer Service Representative III

This is a mid-level position and is distinguished from the Customer Service Representative II level by the assignment of the full range of duties. Persons in this position receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new, unusual, or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. This class is distinguished from the Customer Service Representative Senior in that the latter provides general, technical, and functional supervision to incumbents in other classes.

Qualifications

Customer Service Representative II

Persons in this job category shall hold a bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of academic and relevant experience may be considered.

Customer Service Representative III

Persons in this job category shall hold a bachelor's degree and five (5) years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of academic and relevant experience may be considered.
