Travel Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

The Traveler will be scheduled in accordance with facility policy and is expected to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations alongside hospital employees.

Number of Beds: 17

Patient Ratios: 1:1

Unit Staffing Description: 1 RN and 1 CST per room, with turnover staff and a charge RN, and 4:1 Anesthesia coverage for in-house night shifts.

Type of Equipment: XI Robot, advanced spine, Mako joint robot

Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements: 3 call shifts (12 hours) across 4 weeks, with day and night shifts available.

Floating Policy: No mandatory floating

Patient Experience Requirements: AIDET

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Registered Nurse (RN) License

Required Skills & Experience

Applicants must possess thoracic and vascular experience, inclusive of heart and valve replacements. Strong skills are essential in:

Cardiac (CV/PV)

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair

Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)

Femoral-Popliteal (Fem-Pop) Bypass

Mitral or Aortic Valve Replacement

Advanced skills in general circulating knowledge are required, including case positioning, prepping, and facilitating surgeries in the specified areas.

General Surgery

Trauma Surgery

Orthopedic Surgery (trauma and elective joints/sports medicine)

Urology

Gynecological Surgery

Robotic Surgery (XI robotic utilization)

Plastic Surgery

Neurosurgery (including complex crani and spine services)

Cardiothoracic Surgery

Dress Code

The required uniform is scrubs, which will be provided by the facility.

The facility holds various certifications including Total Joint, Heart Center, Level 2 Trauma, Stroke, and Cardiac Center recognition.
