Job Summary

.

The Lead Technologist will coordinate daily ultrasound operations, support and guide staff, collaborate with physicians and other departments, and help maintain high standards of patient care, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily operations of the Antenatal Testing Unit.
• Provide technical guidance and support to ultrasound staff.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, workflow, and departmental activities.
• Perform and/or oversee ultrasound examinations according to established protocols.
• Ensure diagnostic ultrasound procedures are performed accurately and professionally.
• Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists, physicians, administration, and other departments.
• Assist with staff training, orientation, and professional development.
• Support department policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for workflow and process improvement.
• Address technical and operational issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support regulatory compliance.
• Promote a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of a 2-year patient-based allied health program .
• Ultrasound, Medical Sonography, or Radiology education preferred.
• Armed Forces equivalent medic/corpsman program may be accepted with DD-214 documentation .
• RDMS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Level II OB/GYN ultrasound experience .
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous lead or supervisory technologist experience.
• Experience in an Antenatal Testing Unit (ATU) or Maternal-Fetal Medicine setting.
• Experience with staff coordination, scheduling, and workflow management.
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.

Must-Have Requirements

• RDMS certification
• 2+ years of Level II OB/GYN ultrasound experience
• Associate degree or qualifying 2-year allied health program
• Ability to work on-site in Boston, MA
