Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Fremont, California in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role supports core accounting operations by ensuring accurate financial records, strong receivables oversight, and timely reporting across multiple areas of the business. The ideal candidate brings solid general ledger experience, sound judgment in reviewing transactions, and the ability to contribute to monthly and quarterly financial processes.Responsibilities:• Conduct audits of electronic attendance records and resolve discrepancies to support accurate reporting.• Prepare and submit required state filings and assist with quarterly compliance reporting.• Maintain inventory subledger accuracy and reconcile balances to the general ledger.• Review and approve accounts receivable activity, aging reports, cash receipts, and related journal entries for completeness and accuracy.• Oversee parent fee deposits, write-offs, collections processing, and associated accounting entries.• Verify provider billing and payment activity against contract terms and approved invoice requirements.• Reconcile prepaid expenses, bank accounts, and receivables schedules as part of the monthly close process.• Record fixed asset depreciation, maintain supporting schedules, and contribute to monthly financial statement preparation.• Analyze budget-to-actual results for assigned programs and identify notable variances.• Support staff oversight by assisting with training, guidance, and day-to-day review of accounting work.
