Accounts Payable Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected construction industry client to identify an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Newark, CA. This position offers the chance to join a growing organization where you'll play a key role in supporting accounting operations, vendor relationships, and project-related financial processes. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience within the construction industry or a similar project-based environment and possess a strong understanding of vendor management, job costing, and subcontractor invoicing. This role is in office daily which will allow you the full benefit of working with this amazing team. Responsibilities Process high-volume vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and efficiently Review and match invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain subcontractor compliance records including W-9s, insurance certificates, and lien waivers Collaborate with project managers to ensure proper job cost coding and project expense tracking Assist with month-end close activities and AP reporting Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong working relationships Support accounting projects and process improvement initiatives Qualifications 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience required Construction industry experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of job costing, subcontractor billing, and construction accounting practices Experience processing high-volume invoices with strong attention to detail Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs Experience with Vista, Viewpoint, Sage, CMiC, Foundation, or other construction ERP systems preferred Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Competitive salary of $80,000 - $90,000 annually Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and paid holidays Career growth opportunities with an established organization Supportive and collaborative team culture Pay Details: $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
