Chief EstimatorThe Chief Estimator is responsible for the overall management of estimating activities for Enterprise Electricals Houston Division. This role oversees all estimating operations, ensuring accurate, competitive, and profitable bids while supporting company revenue growth and strategic partnerships. The Chief Estimator leads, mentors, and develops the estimating team, maintains estimating systems and databases, and collaborates closely with senior leadership to support long-term growth objectives.Enterprise Electrical is a commercial electrical contractor committed to excellence, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. The Chief Estimator plays a critical leadership role in driving consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across all estimating efforts while upholding Enterprise Electrical's core values.Essential Functions, Duties, and ResponsibilitiesTasks may include, but are not limited to the following:Oversee and manage all preconstruction and estimating activities for the Houston divisionSupervise, mentor, and support junior and senior estimatorsDevelop accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for projects of varying size and complexityReview RFQs, RFPs, and Invitations to Bid for compliance with company standards, schedules, and competitivenessManage estimating schedules, workflows, and priorities to meet company objectivesReview quantity takeoffs for accuracy and compliance with specifications and drawingsCommunicate with customers to define scope, address discrepancies, negotiate pricing, and build long-term relationshipsPrepare contractual exhibits, scope documents, and quantified scopes of workConduct internal estimate reviews and lead departmental training and development initiativesDevelop logical assumptions for conceptual estimates and ensure consistency across takeoffsMaintain and manage the Accubid database, including assemblies and estimating standardsEstablish and enforce uniform estimating procedures and best practicesParticipate in project turnover and kickoff meetings as neededAnalyze bid results and completed projects to improve estimating accuracyProvide analytical summaries and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-makingAttend project meetings and industry events to maintain and grow strategic relationshipsMaintain confidentiality of all departmental and company informationAssist with additional duties as required to support business objectivesQualifications: Education, Experience, and SkillsRequired:· Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred· Extensive experience in electrical estimating and preconstruction leadershipExperience Requirements:· 10 or more years of electrical estimating experience· Proven experience leading and developing estimating teams· Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction practicesRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:· Advanced knowledge of estimating software, including Accubid· Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills· Excellent written and verbal communication skills· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously· Strong leadership, mentoring, and decision-making capabilitiesAssociated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities· Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, leadership, and external partners· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy· Ability to develop long-term strategies aligned with company growth goals· Professional judgment in high-impact financial and contractual decisions· Ability to uphold and model Enterprise Electrical's core valuesEnterprise Electrical's Core Values & Job CompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following job competencies:Cooperation/Teamwork – Works collaboratively, supports team goals, and communicates effectively.Oral/Written Communication – Communicates clearly, professionally, and accurately.Attention to Detail – Completes tasks with accuracy, reliability, and consistency.Attendance/Punctuality – Maintains dependable attendance and punctuality standards.Managing Work – Plans, prioritizes, and organizes tasks to meet deadlines.Results Orientation – Sets goals, follows through on commitments, and achieves outcomes.Problem-Solving – Identifies issues, proposes solutions, and takes initiative to resolve challenges.License/CertificationPreferred: Relevant estimating or construction certificationsWorking Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements· Office-based with attendance at project meetings and industry events· Occasional travel may be required· Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periodsEquipment or Machines Routinely Used in This Position· Computer, estimating software, Accubid, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard office equipmentBenefits· Close-knit, team-oriented work environment· Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance· 401(k)· Bonus opportunities· PTO· Paid Holidays· Continuing education opportunities Enterprise Electrical Service Inc
