Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider

This hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its nocturnist team in Dothan, Alabama, providing overnight care to hospitalized adults in collaboration with physicians and the broader care team.

Night shift, 12 hour shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

$120,000 to $180,000 per year, based on experience.

This provider delivers comprehensive hospital based care to adult patients, conducting thorough patient assessments and developing effective treatment plans. The role includes managing admissions, conducting daily rounds, and handling cross coverage duties, as well as ordering, interpreting, and acting on diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging results. This person adjusts medications and treatments as needed for patient care, responds promptly to changes in patient condition overnight, and works collaboratively with physicians and hospital leadership to support patient care quality, ensuring timely and accurate documentation and communication regarding patient activity.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the State of Alabama
• Board certification
• Strong clinical decision making and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within a physician led team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient, hospitalist, critical care, emergency medicine, or acute care settings
• ACLS certification
• Experience with overnight or nocturnist scheduling

$120,000 to $180,000 per year, based on experience. Full benefits package.
