Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts), 36 hours guaranteed per week, with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday) and 2 of 3 major holidays required

Candidate Pay Rate: $60.20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional bedside care to cardiac, neuro, and medical-surgical patients across a dynamic float pool
• Titrate cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine, and Cardizem with confidence and precision
• Interpret EKGs and monitor centralized telemetry to catch changes before they become emergencies
• Perform thorough neuro assessments on post-surgical, post-crani, spine, and post-TPA patients
• Float across Tele, MedSurg, ICU, and holding areas to keep every unit staffed and every patient safe
• Collaborate with hospitalists, charge nurses, PCTs, and rapid response teams to elevate patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families so they leave feeling informed, supported, and empowered

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or a compact state
• At least 2 years of acute care RN experience, ideally in telemetry, cardiac, or med-surg
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing your contract (two attempts max, within 48 hours of offer)
• Must pass a pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation
• Comfortable floating between units and, when needed, between the Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses
• BSN is a nice bonus, but not required

Education

• Trauma Level: 1
• Charting System: Cerner
• Unit Notes: Auto Offer off of Prescreen
• MUST BE ABLE TO TITRATE CARDIAC DRIPS!!

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac drip titration skills and the clinical judgment to back them up
• Sharp EKG interpretation and telemetry monitoring know-how
• Neuro assessment skills including caring for post-crani, spine, and CVA patients
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and centralized monitoring stations
• Adaptability and calm under pressure, since floating is part of the job
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teammates
• A team-first attitude that makes every unit a little better
