Employment Attorney

Employment Attorney | South Boston

A well-established South Boston law firm is looking to add an experienced Employment Attorney to its team. This is an opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys both litigation and counseling and wants meaningful responsibility working directly with employer clients. Plaintiff-side experience is a plus, as the role will involve a strong mix of employer representation, employment litigation, and proactive counseling.

What You'll Do

• Represent employers in employment-related matters in state and federal court
• Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and other substantive case work
• Counsel employers on employment issues, workplace matters, risk management, and compliance
• Draft and review employment agreements, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents
• Advise clients regarding equity compensation, stock options, vesting, and related employment considerations
• Handle pre-litigation negotiations, demand letters, and dispute resolution
• Conduct legal research and prepare clear, persuasive written work product

What We're Looking For

• Experience practicing employment law with meaningful employer-side representation
• Plaintiff-side employment experience is a plus
• Strong litigation experience in state and federal court
• Experience with depositions, discovery, motions, and negotiations
• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
• Comfortable counseling clients and providing practical, business-minded legal advice
• Self-starter who can manage matters independently while working collaboratively with the team
