OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST – CHILDREN’S DAY PROGRAM!

Full‑Time. Salary $65,000 – $75,000 per year. About DDI For nearly 65 years, DDI (Developmental Disabilities Institute) has been a leading agency providing a full spectrum of care for over 1,600 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Shifts Available Monday – Friday, 8 am – 3 pm (32.5 hours per week). Role Overview As an Occupational Therapist in our Children’s Day Program, you will provide therapeutic services that support individuals with disabilities in achieving increasing levels of independence. You will collaborate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. What You’ll Do Evaluate, assess, or screen clients using standardized testing and clinical observational skills. Provide occupational therapy services according to mandated paperwork (e.g., IEPs, IFSPs). Maintain required documentation and professional records in a confidential manner. Attend scheduled meetings and collaborate with other professionals, staff and families. Update professional knowledge and skills through continuing education, in‑service training or higher education. Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic, orthotic and adaptive equipment devices. Consult with equipment technicians, physicians or others related to the client’s needs. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Need for the Role Licensed in Occupational Therapy by NYSED. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a state‑registered or nationally accredited program. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred experience treating children with disabilities. Ability to modify the area to ensure safety (move tables and other heavy objects up to 20 lbs). Ability to lift, move, or carry 20 lbs. Ability to run up to 500 feet to assist a client or for an emergency. Ability to kneel, twist, and bend as required. Ability to respond to fire alarms. Benefits Comprehensive paid training.
