Operations SupervisorThe RoleWe are seeking an Operations Supervisor in the warehouse distribution center to oversee daily operations, manage our represented workforce team, manage inventory, ensure quality control, and supervise the receiving of inbound shipments. This team member must be able to rotate into first and second shift, given the business needs. This leadership role requires ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining the timeliness of shipments to our customers. Within this role the Operations Supervisor position is a leadership role that will be supported with on-the-job training, professional development and opportunities for career growth.What You'll Do (Responsibilities):Demonstrates expertise in knowledge of the processes required to perform, and ensures they are effectively performing job responsibilities utilizing standardized methodsMotivates direct reports and/or business partners through effective communication, training, coaching, development, and recognitionIdentifies opportunities for improvement using tools such as layered auditsAchieves Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost key performance indicatorsCultivates a safety culture, and implements and enforces workplace safety rules and policiesImplements GMS and lean principlesModels GM's cultural behaviors and always demonstrates the highest level of integrityMaintains good working relationships and communicates with employees, union representatives, and management teamMay evaluate team performance, and promotes continuous improvementAchieves quality standards by communicating goals and leveraging resources to solve problemsUnderstands and consistently administers company policiesMay completes administrative tasks such as timekeeping, and maintain departmental records and reportsPerforms all other duties as assignedTrains, develops and evaluates employee.Keeps abreast of parts distribution center/materials warehouse performance reports and costsSupervision and Leadership:Oversee and guide department operations.Lead, train, and evaluate a team of union team members.Foster a positive and collaborative environment between peers and union partners.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experienceMust be willing to work 1st or 2nd as determined by business needsMust be willing to work overtime (including weekends as needed).Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze data.Organizational and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, & OutlookProfessional communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):Previous supervisory experience in a union environment3-5 years' experience supervising employees in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment
